I’m still in the US…haven’t been deported yet. 😉 I am having a blast meeting up with my friends and family. These meet ups make me appreciate how long I have been away. I miss these people! Yet, living in Ecuador…just so much beach and so little time. Lol.
I am attached to living in Ecuador. Even now I miss the energy of the people, the simplicity of life, the chaos of the bus rides. I even miss struggling to speak Spanish, and the struggle to understand what is being spoken to me.
My visit home reminds me that one of my goals in moving to Ecuador was to become fluent in Spanish. I am a long way from being able to do that, and I feel a renewed resolve to push harder to learn the language when I return.
After spending this last week in Utah and Arizona, I am headed up to Oregon to see Heidi, Easton, other family members, and some of my friends. This will be the last leg of my US visit before heading back to Ecuador. It feels like I have been here for a very long time already and I still have 10 days to look forward too. 🙂
While I was in Utah I went on a hike to some petroglyphs near where I used to live. Oddly enough, I had never visited these ancient pics during the 20+ years I lived there.
Sometimes it just takes being a tourist to get out and do things!

I hope you and your family in Oregon enjoy one another in every aspect of the meaning of unconditional.
Thanks Catherine, and amen. 🙂
It’s awesome that you became a tourist in your old town! That’s always exciting. And how exciting that your urge to speak Spanish has returned. Learning a language is a life-changing thing.
Necesito aprender espanol antes salir sudamerica! 🙂
Thanks for reading Veronika!
