Today is Thanksgiving in Canada. I hope all of my Canadian friends have enjoyed this day with their families and have been able to reflect on the blessings each one has. I appreciate all of you in my life and the blessings I have enjoyed because of each of you.

We spent some time in El Centro today showing Christian around. We ran into Annette and Greg at lunch at San Duche’s, which is the great sandwich restaurant they introduced us too several weeks ago. I think Cuenca is treating them well because whenever I see Greg and Annette they always have a big smile on their face. I like smiles because they are contagious.

Heidi and I paid our medical insurance today at the bank and it went very smoothly. So, I have two more months before I can schedule medical services here, and Heidi has three months. Of course, we are covered immediately for emergencies. I also understand everyone in Ecuador is covered for emergency medical care even if you don’t carry insurance.

We took Christian to the top of the Cathedral at Parque Calderon. I love the views up there. Afterwards we grabbed a coffee at Tostao’s, then showed Christian San Francisco market. Heidi helped him negotiate on some of his things. I’m proud of her, who would have thought she had it in her? đŸ˜‰

While we were waiting for the bus, this young boy came over and began talking to us as his mother stood in the back ground and watched. This little boy was dressed as Superman and was all smiles. Boys and superheros…some things are just universal. This made me smile very big too.

Christian with Superman...or is it Superboy?

Another week begins in Ecuador. Hope your week is off to a great start!
