My computer is having a serious problem today. I couldn’t get past the Lenovo splash screen. I’ve watched a lot of You Tube videos on what appears to be a common problem with this laptop. After trying all the suggested fixes it finally booted up again. Hopefully it won’t do this again, but I don’t trust it.
I have to say I would never buy Lenovo again. When I first read about this company I was impressed with the CEO’s attitude, and it outweighed my fear of poorly made Chinese products. He believed in quality and performance and to encourage that, he would take his huge bonus and divide it among all the workers who made the product itself. I believe the dollar amount each worker received was the equivalent of three months salary which seemed like a great incentive to do your best work.
But a generous idea and even the best work cannot fix a poorly designed product. I’m not the only one I know who has had problems with their Lenovo. In fact, over time, everyone I know who has one has had some issue with theirs.
So here I am in Ecuador where the cost of a new laptop is double what it is in the States. I don’t think I can justify buying one here though. It would be better to buy a plane ticket to Miami, buy one there (and some other things we need) and come back. Uuugh! I’m still adjusting to a no “WIW WIWI” lifestyle…What I Want When I Want It!
On a happier note, we enjoyed a fantastic fresh lobster dinner with friends last night. This was the first time I actually saw live lobster go into a boiling pot of water. Ouch. They didn’t die in vain though because they were absolutely delicious!
Historically I’m more of a crab meat fan than lobster because, more times than not when I have ordered lobster, they are rubbery.
Tonight I got to enjoy some really great lobster.
They were cooked perfectly.
This gets chalked up in the plus column for living on the ocean in Ecuador!
Chao!
