It’s been a bright beautiful sunny day here. Very hot and humid, but gorgeous skies reflecting off the ocean.
I went with Easton to the Farmers Market this morning to get some strawberries, bananas, eggs, and fresh fish. We choose Linguado, which is a sole or flounder type fish. The filets look beautiful and I can’t see any bones so I am hoping that is in fact the case, but I have no idea.
We went to our usual place to buy eggs and there has been a price increase. An egg now costs 12 cents instead of 10. Guess next time we will be shopping around to see if that is a universal increase or just this particular place.
My first reaction to any price increase usually involves the thought, “Is this the gringo price or everyone’s price?” Now that we have been here a bit and are more familiar with what things cost we know when we are getting “gringo priced.” But even knowing, it still happens to us.
We weren’t at the market for long, but I was worn out by the time we got back. I’ve spent the better part of the day sleeping, or trying to sleep. Hopefully I will be back to my old self soon!
Chao.
More pictures please! What’s linguado look like? Tan yet?
Will do on the pictures Brandon. What does Linguado look like? Well, I’ve only seen it as pinkish white fillets about the size of half a large frying pan. Very few bones. I think we are all well tanned at this point. And it doesn’t matter how thick the cloud cover is, you can still burn without sunscreen. Welcome to the equator!
